Title: Respect GodŐs Name
Scripture: Ex. 20: 7 ; Lev.19:12; 24:10-16

I. WHY SHOULD WE RESEPCT GODŐS NAME?
Two sides to this commandment:
(1) Negative side forbids every wrong use of GodŐs name.
(2) Positive side demands that we use His name with reverence & awe.
Why did Adam not name God?
(1) He is above us.
(2) No human being could name God properly.
Turn to Exodus 3: 13-15 ŇThe name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous man runs to it and is safe.Ó Pr.18:10
Why should we respect GodŐs name?
(1) Because of His (________________).

II. HOW DO WE RESPECT GODŐS NAME?
How do we respect GodŐs Name?
(1) We respect GodŐs name by not using it in (________________). ŇA good person produces good deeds from a good heart, and an evil person produces evil deeds from an evil heart. Whatever is in your heart determines what you will say.Ó Lk.6:4-5 (NLT)
(2) We respect GodŐs Name by not (________________) God of His honor.
